Philadelphia Eagles backup Quarterback Michael Vick will start in this Sunday’s game (Sept. 19, 2010) versus the Detroit Lions, while Kevin Kolb is still out with a concussion. Thus far, Vick has only had two starts as Wide Receiver since signing with the Eagles in 2009.
In last weekend’s match up between the Eagles and the Green Bay Packers, 30-year-old Vick put on a vintage show on the field.
In a game plagued with injuries, Kolb left the game with a concussion at halftime, putting Vick at the helm of the team. Vick scrambled 23 yards on the first play of the third quarter, and in another play he avoided a sack, spun away and dashed down the left sideline for another 31 yards.
The Eagles lost the game 27-20, but they did not go down without a fight. Vick seemed comfortable and in control, though there was one play when he could have run the ball in for a touchdown!
Is Michael Vick worthy of keeping the starting position as the Philadelphia Eagles Quarterback or not? This week’s game could prove to be a career-changer for him based upon his performance, but should the Eagles give him a chance beyond this game?
