New York Comic-Con: Day 2 Photos! Adrien Brody Reps Predators! Michael Jackson Rules!

Yes, the day two photos are about 15 hours later than anticipated, but you can thank Comic-Con for wearing me out yesterday (Oct. 9) with too much fun! On my adventures, I bumped into Adrien Brody as he was promoting the October 19 DVD/Blu-ray release of the Predators movie. ScreenRant.com also got a little scoop on the rumors of Brody taking on the role of Ant-Man in The Avengers… see the link below.

There were actually plenty of DVD’s, movies and television series to check out, including AMC’s The Walking Dead, which premieres Halloween night. Given the addiction I already have to Mad Men and Rubicon, I’ll be tuned in!

I chatted with reps at the Anchor Bay/Manga booth about their new remake of I Spit on Your Grave (in theaters now, still afraid to see it!) and the Starz Network series Spartacus: Blood and Sand. Hopefully we’ll have some interviews with a gladiator or two on UrbLife.com soon! It’s sad news that Andy Whitfield won’t be returning for season two (premiere date tbd) due to his cancer treatment. Our prayers go out to him for a speedy recovery! You can still find Andy’s work on the Spartacus season 1 DVD/Blu-ray, which is out now!

Despite the sold-out crowd at NYCC, I squeezed in to peek at Sega’s Thor: The Video Game, which was originally announced at Comic-Con in San Diego in July. It’s a mix of both the comic book and the upcoming film, and from the looks of the behind-the-scenes footage, the Wii gameplay seems like it will be the most fun since the wand is Thor’s hammer. Of course hardcore 360 or PS3 users may disagree.

The Kinect booth was jam packed with gamers ready to try out the wireless full-body action. When advertisers say “fun for the whole family” I rarely believe it, but Kinect is definitely a good investment for your holidays in my opinion. You can find a list of retailers over at Xbox.com!

After lingering around the Ubisoft booth, I really do think Michael Jackson: The Experience will be my next must-have game. It will be available for Wii on November 23, then for Kinect in early 2011 (release date tbd). Here’s the somewhat corny trailer for the Wii version… it’s actually a lot more challenging and more fun than these obviously professionally trained dancers make it look.
