What would you do if you woke up one morning and everyone you knew had vanished? In Vanishing on 7th Street, all begins with a blackout in Detroit, and survivors of the mass disappearance gather at a tavern to ward off the dangers of the darkness.

This theme has been rehashed in a few different thrillers (although I’ll always credit Twilight Zone for making it truly scary), but Vanishing on 7th Street wants to do something different.

Thandie Newton, John Leguizamo and Hayden Christensen star with a couple of cute kids (Jacob Latimore and Taylor Groothuis) while Brad Anderson (Transsiberian, The Machinist) directs. Anderson has also directed single episodes for shows like Boardwalk Empire, The Wire, Treme, Masters of Horror and Fringe, so hopefully he’ll try to pack a punch with ‘Vanishing‘ and keep us interested (and scared!).

Vanishing on 7th Street has a release date of February 18.
