Last night (Sept. 20) in New York City, dozens of entertainment and fashion professionals came together with celebrities and athletes to join model/actress Melyssa Ford and Def Jam Senior VP of A&R Shawn Pecas for a rousing Monday Night Lights football viewing party at The 40/40 Club!
The game was a nail-biter, with Reggie Bush seriously injuring himself during play. Despite the setback, the champion New Orleans Saints squeaked by in the final seconds of the game against the San Francisco 49ers for a 25-22 win. Jay-Z himself was on-hand at 40/40 to witness the incredible victory, along with a room full of excited spectators!
Throughout the night, young movers and shakers mingled and enjoyed the open bar, courtesy of Ludacris’s Conjure Cognac, including Terrence J (BET’s 106 & Park), singer/songwriter Tank, American Music Award-winning rapper/songwriter Chris Classic, production team the Soul Diggaz, urban model Tahiry, Sirius Radio host Angela Yee, Mike Kyser (Atlantic Records), Jay Davis (Disturbing Tha Peace) and many more!
The entire Jimoh Group was on hand managing the VIP reception, and I was also in the house with UrbLife.com‘s Andrea Bernard, Tati Amari and Isha “Ice” Cole as we handed out specialty gift bags to attendees. Between gameplay, DJ Big Jeff provided a lively soundtrack that kept the mood light and fun all night!
