Thankfully, the NFL’s week 7 was better than previous weeks, and there weren’t too many hard hits and injuries. However, Week 7 did bring about issues with game officials, for what many would say were bad calls during two big games. Nonetheless, the season continues on!

1. The broken collarbone injury endured by Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo could keep him off the field for weeks, if not the remainder of the season. This is a horrible time for the now 1-5 Cowboys, who lost to the New York Giants in the October 25 Monday night football match up. Cowboy fans normally do a lot of talking, but they are mighty quiet this season!
2. Mathias Kiwanuka‘s herniated cervical disk injury in his neck landed him on the injured reserve list and out for the season. The fate of the New York Giants defensive end was first ruled before the match up with the Chicago Bears in Week 4.
3. Minnesota Vikings head coach Brad Childress was fined $35 thousand for publicly criticizing officials after Sunday’s (Oct. 24) loss to the Green Bay Packers. After the Vikings 28 to 24 loss, Childress said it was “the worst-officiated game I’ve seen.”
4. Cornerback Adam “Pacman” Jones of the Cincinnati Bengals is out for the remainder of season with a neck injury. Jones sustained the injury during their game with the Atlanta Falcons, which they lost 39 to 32. This is unfortunate for Pacman Jones; he has actually been on his best behavior so far this season.
5. A helmet-to-helmet hit has left Detroit Lions linebacker Zack Follett out for the season with a neck injury. The hit, which put Follett in the hospital, occurred during the Lions’ match up with the New York Giants.
6. Tennessee Titans wide receiver Kenny Britt may be in more hot water if an investigation finds that he hit a man when a fight erupted in a downtown Nashville nightclub. Britt, who was benched first quarter against Philadelphia Eagles, has become one of the NFL’s best receivers, and claims that he is being falsely accused. Don’t be too surprised if he did throw a punch – he’s from Jersey!
7. Albert Haynesworth doesn’t think he’s good enough to play nose tackle in the 3-4 defense for the Washington Redskins. Haynesworth’s objection to the 3-4 defense brought upon problems during the off season, but he decided stick it out with the Skins. Man up Haynesworth, this is football!!
