Last week Anfernee “Penny” Hardaway announced that he would consider coming out of retirement, specifically expressing interest in the Miami Heat. ESPN reports that, despite longtime knee injury problems, Hardaway really wants to return to basketball.
Hardaway, who turns 39 today (July 18), was signed to the Heat in 2007 and officially retired after playing 16 games in the season. Could it be the excitement of the new “dream team” building up in Miami, or the sheer boredom of being a retiree that’s driving Penny to come back? We’re not sure, but NetDugout.com has their own (hilarious) idea of financial help for pop culture icon “Lil Penny”!
Is a return to the big game the best idea for Penny Hardaway? Let us know what you think!
