When he’s not plotting out game-winning strategies, NFL star Thomas Jones loves to get away from it all in some interesting places. The 31-year-old baller still enjoys the nightlife in Miami, New York, L.A. and even his new professional home of Kansas City, however there’s nothing better in his mind than peace and quiet, preferably near the water!
Jones gave UrbLife.com his Top 7 favorite vacation spots, and it’s no surprise that his childhood home in the Appalachian Mountains tops the list!
1. Big Stone Gap, Virginia – Home! I go there and it’s the same way as when I left. You go there and get your mom’s cooking, then all the people you grew up with are there… it’s just relaxing. You have to fly into the airport and drive an hour to get to where I live.
2. Dominican Republic – The people over there are really nice. It’s just a different environment and culture, a totally different atmosphere.
3. Montego Bay, Jamaica – I stay at the Royal Caribbean Sandals resort -it’s a nice, quiet environment, and a really good vacation spot. The service is good, and it’s right by the ocean. It’s beautiful.
4. Cabo San Lucas, Mexico – It’s a good party spot. I was there when I was younger, and I had a good time.
5. Saint Lucia – It’s quiet. When I go on vacation, I like to relax as much as possible. I ride jet skis – the water there is beautiful.
6. Nassau, Bahamas – I stayed at the Atlantis. It’s close to Miami – you just jump on a plane and you’re right there. They have a casino, and it’s a fun place to go. It’s convenient since my schedule is pretty hectic. I’m not really big on gambling, but I go over there and play a little blackjack.
7. South Bristol, Maine – My financial advisor has a place right off the water. It’s amazing… one of those places where nobody can find you.
