CNN news anchor Don Lemon has covered important stories and produced engaging documentaries in the past two decades with impeccable style and an an infectious smile. Recently, the 45-year-old Emmy-award winning journalist publicly admitted that he is gay, and will be releasing the tell-all book Transparent on June 16, 2011.

It was not until the age of 30 that Lemon told his mother that he was sexually abused as a child by a family friend, and also revealed to her the secret that he had lived with for so long. Lemon has dedicated Transparent to Tyler Clementi, an 18-year-old Rutgers student who committed suicide in 2010 after his private sexual encounters were shown on the Internet by vicious schoolmates.

In the CNN video below, Don Lemon reads an excerpt from his book and speaks about being abused by a teenage neighbor for several years, homosexuality in the African American community and more.
