Yesterday (Nov. 3) during his visit to the U.K., Jay-Z visited BBC’s Newsbeat with Natalie Jamieson and proclaimed light-heartedly that he wished he had the role of President of the United States. He also expressed empathy for President Obama:
“In order to judge someone, you have to judge what they inherit. He inherited the worst economy, war, just a horrible time in American history. So if we think he can solve that, I mean, we don’t think he’s God, do we? He’s a human being. He’s going to need time to figure that out. But it may be a good thing.
Maybe the Republicans will win one of those Houses, so this way they’ll have to be responsible for whether a law gets passed, and they can’t put it on Obama. In order to get to that sort of success and that dream, you have to go through some peaks and valleys. It’s been two years.”
In his European travels, Jay-Z is actually en-route to Bath, England to do some work with Kanye West, and is prepping for the release of his long-awaited book Decoded to release on November 16.
Additionally, the multi-talented entrepreneur unveiled his new Hits Collection website yesterday (Nov. 3) in New York’s Time-Warner Samsung store. The site offers fans a complete look at the rapper’s amazing musical career, noting milestones in his journey all the way back to 1989.
Back to the politics though… if Ronald Reagan, an actor who co-starred with a monkey, can become President of the United States, and if if Arnold Schwarzenegger, a bodybuilder and actor who played a robot, can become Governor of California, then why not Jay-Z? He’s proven that he can make something out of nothing, and that’s probably where we’ll be in eight years.
Would you vote for Jay-Z if he ran for President? Vote now and let us know your thoughts!
