    —

When LeBron James left the Cleveland Cavaliers in July, the nation offered condolences to the grieving Ohio city. Despite losing the star baller to Miami, Cleveland still has plenty to offer anyone visiting. From museums and parks to the world-famous Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, the hearts of the citizens beat with their motto: “Progress and Prosperity.”

Cleveland native Kelle Rozell, a Consumer Marketing rep for A&E Television Networks, has lived in Brooklyn, New York for the past eight years. She still adores her hometown, and often takes trips back to to visit family and friends.

UrbLife.com asked Rozell for her Top 7 things to do in Cleveland, and it was difficult for her to cut the list down. Take notes, and let us know about your favorite places as well!

    1) Cleveland Metro Parks Zoo & Rain Forest – 3900 Wildlife Way

It has to be one of the world’s most amazing zoos. If I’m wrong, the bar for zoos worldwide is set unusually high.

    2) Take in a professional sports game!

Cleveland sports fans have so much passion. Whether its the Cavs, Indians or Browns, it’s definitely an experience like no other…with or with out “that guy.”

    3) Rock & Roll Hall of Fame – 1100 Rock & Roll Boulevard

It’s iconic, one of a kind and has something for everyone. And if you don’t like music, the structure itself is award-winning.

    4) Cleveland Museum of Art – 11150 East Boulevard

Once again, world renowned, right in Cleveland. It’s located in the Wade Park area (not your typical downtown area), but housed in a neo-classical building surrounded by a beautiful park/pond area. And it’s free!

Substitution: if classic art is not your thing, try Tremont/Ohio City!

Located on the west side right outside of downtown, it’s artsy with amazing restaurants. Check out Lolita (900 Literary Rd), headed by Chef Michael Symon, a Food Network Iron Chef; or the Great Lakes Brewing Company (2516 Market Ave). The Christmas Ale at Great Lakes is amazing, so says my brother “self-proclaimed connoisseur of all things great.”

    5) Great Lakes Science Center – 601 Erieside Avenue

This is a giant playground for kids and adults alike. Remember that static thing you put your hand on and it made your hair stand up straight? Yeah, they’ve got a huge one there. And it sits right on Lake Erie in between the Rock Hall and the Browns Stadium.

    6) Paninis – Warehouse District, 1290 W. 6th Street

An overstuffed sandwich with fries and coleslaw on it. Only in Cleveland.

    7) Cedar Point – Cedar Point Peninsula

If you have a full day and you enjoy amusement/thrill parks, it is a must. Its about an hour from Cleveland in Sandusky, OH, but it’s hands down the best place in the whole wide world. The catch here is you must love roller coasters, because most of them have broken world records.

Let me know if you ever want the “historical” tour. Civil Rights and Mafia Wars! ~ Kelle
